Rev. Tajuan Kyles
Pastor Tajuan Kyles is a wife, mother and grandmother with 20+ years of experience in Christian Ministry.
She holds a B.S. degree from Jackson State University, Jackson, MS, Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA. And, she's a Certified Coach & Trainer with the John Maxwell Team.
Rev. Kyles has worked as a Right-Hand Administrator for Senior Pastors and Community Leaders for over two decades. Her administrative gifts, creativity, charisma and leadership skills have enabled her to serve in various roles and capacities on several levels. Currently, she’s employed as the Executive Assistant to the General Secretary-Auditor of the A.M.E. Zion Church in the Corporate Headquarters, Charlotte, NC.
In 2001, Rev. Kyles received her Preachers License in the Southwestern Delta Episcopal District. She was ordained as a Deacon in the Piedmont Episcopal District in 2008. In 2011, she was ordained as an Elder in the Mid Atlantic Episcopal District while being employed full-time at the historic Pennsylvania Avenue A.M.E. Zion Church, Baltimore, MD. Currently, Rev. Kyles serves in West Central North Carolina Annual Conference as the proud Pastor of Ebenezer A.M.E. Zion Church, Waxhaw, NC on the Wadesboro-Monroe District.
Rev. Kyles is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce, the Union County Women in Business and the NAACP.
Rev. Tajuan (Johnson) Kyles is married to Sylvester Kyles, Jr. who has been employed at Livingstone College for over 10 years. They reside in Salisbury share five children and three grandchildren—Josiah, Jaden and Jacob.
Bro. Sylvester Kyles, Jr.
Sylvester Kyles, Jr. is a native of Jackson, Mississippi with over 20 years of experience working with young people. He has focused his entire career connecting with young people and helping them to reach for the sky, which is what he believes is their only limit in life. And, he continues to build mentoring relationships founded on trust and mutual respect.
Mr. Kyles began his professional career as a Club Director for the Youth for Christ movement which involved coordinating weekly meetings for high school students to include: Bible Study, Discipleship Classes, Conferences, sports events and more. In 1990, he started the Save Our Youth Foundation, Inc. a non-profit organization committed to underserved, inner-city youth. Additionally, Coach Kyles was employed by the Jackson Public School System (MS) as a Teacher Assistant, Basketball Coach, Truancy Officer and Afterschool Coordinator.
Since 2006, Mr. Kyles has worked in higher education and is currently employed at Livingstone College his alma mater. He has served as Program Coordinator for both the Upward Bound & Bridge programs, as the Director of the Bridge Program since 2009, and also coordinates on-campus mentoring programs for students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Sylvester Kyles, Jr.is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He is married to Rev. Tajuan Kyles, pastor of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Waxhaw, North Carolina. He is the father of five children and three grandsons; Jaden, Jacob, and Josiah.
